Elective surgery is a planned procedure and usually commences with a referral from your GP to a surgeon. Many procedures can be performed close to your home, which may reduce the need to travel outside of your community for care.
Surgical procedures can be performed at Batemans Bay, Cooma, Moruya, Goulburn, Queanbeyan and South East Regional Hospital - Bega. We have developed an Elective Surgery Guide, for you to discuss with your doctor at what hospital your surgery may take place.
Your doctor will then refer to you to the relevant surgeon.
To assist in your preparation for surgery, we have developed a patient information guide called What You Need to Know About Your Surgery Journey. We encourage you to read this in the lead up to your procedure.
