NSW Sexual Health Infolink (SHIL)
The NSW Sexual Health Infolink (SHIL), is a service staffed by clinical sexual health nurses who provide a HIV and STI information service for health professionals. These include general practitioners, nurses and allied health professionals.
Requests for information include current HIV and STI testing and treatment guidelines and support with contact tracing and resources. SHIL nurses understand that for some health professionals, talking about sex as a health issue may be not routine and it’s difficult to keep ahead of changes in
HIV and STI clinical testing and treatment practice.
SHIL’s role in supporting public health is to provide fast clinical information and support for clinicians who provide HIV and sexual health care for their patients. They can also provide links to specialised services.
