Cancer Services

We offer a range of cancer and oncology services to help you and your family. Wherever possible, services are provided locally to maximise patient access and minimise travel from home.

Specialist cancer services include:

  • Chemotherapy treatment delivered by cancer nurses
  • Oncology social work
  • Cancer care coordination
  • Breast cancer nurse
  • Prostate cancer nurse (Bega and Moruya)
  • Cancer specialist medical and nurse practitioner consultations
    • Medical oncology (Bega, Moruya, Goulburn and Cooma)
    • Haematology (Bega, Goulburn and Moruya)
    • Radiation oncology (Goulburn)
  • Side effect assessment and management by a Cancer Nurse Practitioner

Specialist services are provided at the new cancer centers in Bega and Moruya, at the Bourke Street Health Service in Goulburn, and in the refurbished unit in Cooma.

Other services for cancer patients, including palliative care, community nursing and allied health services, are accessible via the Community Health Central Intake line on 1800 999 880 or by emailing SNSWLHD-CommunityIntake@health.nsw.gov.au

For some cancer types which are less common or more complex, travel to Canberra or Sydney may be required to ensure you receive the best care. Your local cancer unit can provide information on how to access support services which may reduce the financial and logistical burdens associated with travel.

We work closely with Canberra Health Services to ensure we provide the best possible care to our patients in the region.
