The Statewide Eyesight Preschooler Screening (StEPS) program is a universal, scientifically based, free vision screening program for four year old children in NSW. Southern NSW Local Health District provides free vision screening to all four year old children to identify childhood vision problems early, prior to school entry, so that treatment outcomes can be maximised.
Screening takes place through preschools and long day care services across Southern NSW Local Health District. For booking enquiries, please contact the Southern NSW Local Health District StEPS Coordinator. Parents can also have their four year old child’s vision screened for free through their local Child & Family Health Service.
