JOIN OUR TEAM
Are you passionate about working in mental health or alcohol and other drugs services?
We are always looking for highly motivated and passionate health professionals and support staff who share our values of collaboration, openness, respect and empowerment.
Our people must have a “can do” attitude, be professional in their approach, and commit to providing safe, quality, evidence-based to our rural and regional communities.
Our District covers a large area from Goulburn, Crookwell and Yass in the north; Queanbeyan and Braidwood; Cooma, Jindabyne, Bombala and Delegate in the Snowy Monaro region; and the South Coast from Batemans Bay, Moruya, Narooma, Bega, Pambula and Eden down to the Victorian border.
We’re neighbours to Canberra and the ACT, have the pristine beaches of the NSW South Coast, the farmlands of the Southern Tablelands, and the spectacular Snowy Mountains. It’s a great place to live and work.
Our alcohol and other drugs staff provide counselling, withdrawal management, opioid treatment, court diversion programs (MERIT), specialist medical consultation and community engagement activities.
Our mental health services include acute, non-acute and older persons mental health units in Goulburn and an acute mental health unit in Bega. We have community mental health staff providing care and support to children and adolescents, adults and older persons across our District. We are also proud to employ a mental health peer workforce.
We’re always on the lookout for talented people to join our team. Our current vacancies are listed here.
Come join our team.

District Director Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs
From our staff
“I am fortunate to be working with an excellent team that embodies the CORE (Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment) values; they work together to provide the best possible care to consumers and their families,” Morgan Holloway – Acting Nurse Unit Manager
“I have the opportunity to connect and engage in the community with people who are reluctant to reach out for mental health support and are suffering in silence. My work supports the NSW Premier’s initiative to reduce suicides, collaboratively within SNSWLHD and other LHDs in the state whom I have much respect for,” Julie Irwin – Rural Counsellor (Towards Zero Suicides Initiatives)
"People coming to an acute in-patient unit gives the
person time to reflect, access information and get support. Working at the Goulburn in-patient units and having a supportive and valued line-manager including the professional team is fantastic! We are able to praise and have difficult conversations so we are doing the best we can for clients. I love my job because of the various teams and how included in the work we do," Beate Zanner - Consumer Advocate
