Queanbeyan Go4Fun looking for new leaders

The search has started for the next leaders to help keep local kids and families in shape.

Organisers of the Queanbeyan Go4Fun are looking for people to take up the challenge of leading the program, with individuals and organisations being considered.   Go4Fun is not only a fun 10 week fitness program for children aged 7 – 13 years old who are above a healthy weight, but it’s also designed for the whole family.

“The Queanbeyan program, which has been running since 2013, has helped many local families modify their lifestyles, by educating them on healthy eating and assisting with exercises to increase physical activity,” said Southern NSW Local Health District Population Health Manager, Lorraine Dubois.

“We’ve seen incredible results with Go4Fun and the program is very popular, so we are keen to keep it going in the area.”

The Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking expressions of interest from established services, Non-Government Organisations or private providers. The two hour sessions are held during school terms, once a week for 10 weeks, running after school and occasionally on weekends.

The closing date for the Expression of Interest is Monday 2 December 2019. For further information contact Lorraine Dubois on 0429 092 491 or email Lorraine.dubois@health.nsw.gov.au.
