Goulburn Hospital Precinct Parking

Access for patients and visitors to Goulburn Hospital is a priority as the redevelopment enters its main works construction phase.

This follows on from a sod turn this week signifying the exciting start of the $150 million four storey clinical services building. The event was attended by NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard, Member for Goulburn, Wendy Tuckerman and NSW Health Infrastructure Chief Executive Rebecca Wark and Goulburn Mulwaree Mayor Bob Kirk.

Following extensive public consultation and endorsement from Goulburn Mulwaree Council, a number of parking changes are being implemented to ensure safe access for all users.  The modifications will be in place from 14 October and are designed to keep patients, staff and contractors safe, while providing access to the site during the busy construction phase. Hansen Yuncken general manager Nick Luzar expects 200 people will be onsite at the peak of construction, with many being local contractors.

Timed parking zones (4hr and 2hr) are being extended to a number of surrounding streets by Goulburn Mulwaree Council. Local residents have been provided with parking permits and staff and contractors will be given dedicated parking areas to free up public spaces. The map of the precinct shows the extended 4hr and 2hr timed parking zones.

“Providing safe and regular access for patients, staff and contractors is paramount, with the area expected to be busier than ever as trucks and heavy machinery move in and out of the site,” SNSWLHD Northern Cluster General Manager, Denis Thomas said.

“The introduction of timed parking is a result of extensive consultation with the locals and staff through recent drop-in sessions. The community, Goulburn Mulwaree Council and the Health District, have come together to provide a safe and fair parking solution, which will be in place during the construction phase.”

There will be an introductory period of one (1) month from 14 October 2019 to 13 November 2019, where vehicles parked in contravention of the signage will be issued a formal warning. Vehicles parked in violation of the signage from 14 November 2019 onwards will be issued with an infringement notice.

The Goulburn Hospital and Health Service Redevelopment Team would like to thank the Goulburn community, visitors and staff for their patience and understanding as it transforms the future of health in the Goulburn region.
