Bid for your piece of Goulburn History

Want to have your very own piece of Goulburn history? We have just the thing for you!


As part of the Goulburn Hospital and Health Service redevelopment, some items from soon to be demolished building are surplus to needs.

 

We are offering you the chance of a lifetime to buy these items through a SILENT auction.

 

All funds raised from the auction will go towards the Arts and Heritage Project in the new Goulburn Hospital.

 

If you live in or near Goulburn, there are viewings Friday 9 November 9:00am to 12:00pm and Saturday 10 November 11:00am to 2:00pm.

 

This is your one and only chance to buy a piece of history from Springfield House and Lady Grose Home.

The rules

 

•           Each saleable item is tagged with a number, this number must be used when bidding.

 

•           Please note that differently numbered items have different reserves.

 

•           A separate bid must be lodged for each item in writing OR by email.

 

•           Bidding will run over 3 days from 12 noon on Thursday 8 November to 11:59pm, Sunday 11 November.

 

•           Successful bidders will be notified, by email, within 48 hours of the completion of the auction.

 

How to bid

 

All bids must be submitted in either of the following ways:

 

1.         Writing on the bid slips (print the attached or slips available at hospital reception).  Then place into a sealed envelope and leave with Hospital reception or staff at the open for inspections, you need to submit a separate bid slip for each item.

 

OR

 

2.         Email bids to: SNSWLHD-GoulburnHospital-Redevelopment@health.nsw.gov.au . – Please note you need to send a separate email for each item you bid for.  In the email you need to include:

 

•           the word ‘Auction’ in the subject line,

•           in the body of the email put:

Reserves     

 

•          Minimum bids and Reserves:

 

  • Furniture items with no letters at the commencement of the number on the item have a minimum bid value of $5.

 

  • Auction tags starting with C is Collectors furniture (cupboards used for bedsides in Lady Grose Home and some quality chairs) have a reserve of $35.

 

  • Doors have different tags that indicate the location and door type –
  • FFXXX  -    French Doors from Springfield House are set at $150 minimum a pair,
  • IS XXX -     Internal Doors from Springfield House and are $150 minimum
  • LG XXX -   Internal Doors from Lady Grose Home are $150 minimum
  • LL XXX -    Leadlight Doors from Springfield House are $400 minimum for the pair. 

 

Payment

 

•           All items must be paid for before collection or by close of business on 16 November. 

 

•           Payment methods will be cash or cheque on collection of items or by EFTPOS at Hospital reception prior to collection of items.

 

Collection of items

 

•           Removal of the goods must be done by the bidder and/or associates and at their own cost

 

•           Removal of items will take place as follows:

 

  • Furniture and loose items from any building:

By arrangement on Tuesday 13 November from 4pm to 7pm

By arrangement on Wednesday 14 November from 4pm to 7pm

Friday 16 November from 9am to 3pm

 

  • Doors from Lady Grose Home:

By arrangement on Tuesday 13 November from 4pm to 7pm

By arrangement on Wednesday 14 November from 4pm to 7pm

Friday 16 November from 9am to 3pm collection on 16 November

 

  • Doors from Springfield House

Successful bidders will be notified of collection arrangements as soon as we can confirm dates for collection. The Springfield doors will probably not be available until mid December.

 

•           Any items uncollected and/or unpaid for will revert back to the ownership of the Hospital and the Hospital will dispose of in the most appropriate way.
